Nitro Merlin is Firestone’s first-ever canned nitro beer, and our first-ever year-round stout release.
Nitro Wizardry
“Nitro” is the brewing nickname for nitrogen gas. The signatures of nitro beers are (1) brilliant clarity in the glass; (2) thick, long-lasting foam; and (3) a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. In order to offer packaged nitro beer, we added cutting-edge nitrogenation technology to our canning line. Each can is perfectly pressurized with a dash of nitrogen gas. When the can is opened and poured correctly, this pressure delivers a brilliant cascade with a thick, creamy foam.
Merlin Reimagined
Nitro Merlin Milk Stout is a delicious reimagining of our famed Velvet Merlin oatmeal stout, offering a long-awaited brand extension that fans have been asking for.
Milking It
The addition of lactose, aka milk sugar, transforms Velvet Merlin into what is known as a “milk stout.” Milk stouts are prized for combining the heady flavors of a traditional stout with a hint of sweetness and added roundness on the palate.
