JANUARY
We welcome you into our 2022 season with Collective Choice—a barrel-aged “pastry-esque” stout infused with vanilla, cocoa, cardamom, and sea salt, as voted on by 2021 club members. From your lips to our ears, and right into the barrel: our first beer made in collaboration with members! Your 2022 Welcome Pack also includes a 2022 membership card, a tasting journal, a bottle stopper, and a club logo gift.
Bourbon Barrel-Aged Ale with Vanilla, Cocoa, Cardamom & Sea Salt
2021 Club Members were given full reign on this beer. Given a list of potential adjuncts from Matt and his team, they were given the opportunity to vote and rank their favorite choices. Driven by those responses, we start off the 2022 year with “Collective Choice”, a blend of two barrel-aged beers with these member-voted adjuncts added.

Parabola is one of the most highly regarded barrel-aged stouts in the world of craft. Now comes this special collection featuring the 2022 Parabola along with two new limited-edition variants, as well as a pair of unique creations from our Barrelworks wild ale cellar. The collection includes an exclusive Brewmaster’s Collective tasting glass.
Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
The next annual edition of our iconic imperial stout, aged for the first time in 12-year-old bourbon barrels to deepen and enrich the classic Parabola experience.
Paraboloid-Two Year Elite Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
A small-batch Parabola aged for two years in some of our most elite whiskey barrels. For the first-ever edition of Paraboloid, we used 14-year Old Fitzgerald Bourbon barrels and 18-year-old Sazerac Rye Whiskey barrels, creating an ultra-smooth mouthfeel with complementary flavors of fudge, leather and spice.
Imperial Stout aged in Brandy & Cherry Bitters Barrels with Fresh Cherries
A small-batch Parabola aged in brandy barrels with a complement matured in cherry bitters barrels, infusing the beer’s dark chocolate character with luscious fruit aromas and hints of sweet viscosity. An infusion of fresh cherries puts the proverbial cherry on top.
BREWMASTER’S COLLECTIVE EXCLUSIVE
American Wild Ale Aged in Bourbon and Rum Barrels with Strawberries and Vanilla
This treasure begins with a sour brown ale, aged in bourbon barrels for three years, then additional five months in Barbados Rum barrels. After soaking up these treasured barrel flavors, it was fermented local Monterey strawberries and parlayed with Madagascar Vanilla beans scavenged from across the seas.
BREWMASTER’S COLLECTIVE EXCLUSIVE
Wild Ale Fermented with Sour Cherries
A reimagination of Krieky Bones, Barrelworks’ Flanders-style Kriek beer. This time, we added twice the typical amount of Montmorency cherries to the beer, creating a limited-edition wild ale that doubles down on delicious fruit flavors.

April
For this collection, we invited our barrelmeisters to unleash their creativity and forage for a variety of imaginative ingredients. The result is a quintet of fruit-inspired beers aged in an array of different spirits barrels, including three Vintage beers and two Barrelworks wild ales. The collection includes an exclusive Brewmaster’s Collective soft cooler.
Blonde Barleywine Aged in Sotol Barrels
We venture onto new stomping grounds with our Helldorado aged in Sotol barrels. Sotol is a distilled spirit made from a Shrub commonly referred to as “desert spoon.” As tequila’s northern cousin, it produces fruity sweetness and herbaceous smoke flavors.
BREWMASTER’S COLLECTIVE EXCLUSIVE
Cognac Barrel-Aged Barley Wine with Orange and Lemon Peel
A high-concept hybrid beer inspired by the Sidecar cocktail. We created an imaginative base brew, then aged it in 500-liter French Cognac barrels, with a complement matured in orange bitters barrels. A touch of fresh lemon juice perfects the experience.
Imperial Blonde Ale Aged in Gin barrels
Our barrelmeisters are working feverishly to finalize the concept. For now, be assured that a load of gin-inspired goodness is coming your way.
Tropical American Wild Ale
Batch two of Primal Elements comes at you with a light, refreshing tropical punch of flavor. Best enjoyed with toes in the sand or lounging in a hammock.
Wild Ale with Fruits, Oats, Almonds, and Spices
We got together with our friends at The Bruery to make a special pie crust-inspired base beer infused with toasted rolled oats and baking spices. Next, we added the “filling” by blending it with a Barrelworks-born wild ale co-fermented with fresh apricots and barrel-aged for two years prior to a final addition of apricot purée. The result is as nice as pie.

MAY
The inspiration for this collection comes straight from the farm. For starters, we are featuring three Vintage beer variants aged in barrels from our friends at WhistlePig Farm in Vermont, home of one of the world’s finest rye whiskeys. Then we are topping it off with two fresh, funky, and farmhouse-worthy wild ales from Barrelworks. The collection includes a selection of curated food pairings.
Central Coast Quad Ale Aged in Whistle Pig Whiskey Barrels
When WhistlePig came to town with a truckload full of spirits, we bartered for some of their fresh, wet rye whiskey barrels. We filled these barrels with our Stickee Monkee Central Coast Quad, then aged it for a year to achieve a perfect balance of rye spice notes with hints of Belgian candi sugar.
Whistle Pig Whiskey Barrel Aged Stout
We had the pleasure of conducting a barrel swap with WhistlePig here in Paso Robles—providing us with the freshest, wettest rye whiskey barrels we’ve ever secured. We filled them the same day with our Velvet Merkin stout to create this barrel-aged masterwork inspired by the Boiler Maker cocktail.
BREWMASTER’S COLLECTIVE EXCLUSIVE
Central Coast Quad Ale Aged in Whistle Pig Whiskey Barrels with Maple Syrup
We aged our Stickee Monkee Central Coast Quad in high rye whiskey barrels from WhistlePig, then added a dollop of barrel-aged maple syrup from the WhistlePig Farm in Vermont. The result is a highly indulgent sticky beer that will keep you coming back for more.
BREWMASTER’S COLLECTIVE EXCLUSIVE
Wild Ale Fermented with Raspberries
An ultra-fruited special edition of our signature Bretta Rosé, a Belgian Framboise-style wild ale from Barrelworks. We took the original Bretta Rosé recipe, then doubled down on the fruit addition with 15,000 pounds of fresh locally grown raspberries. The result is an instant classic bursting with berry goodness.
BREWMASTER’S COLLECTIVE EXCLUSIVE
Belgian Style Farmhouse Ale
A blended saison made in collaboration with the good folks at pFriem Family Brewers in Hood River, Oregon. Inspired by a beer the pFriem first made with brewer (and Firestone Walker friend) Jenn Talley, we created this masterful blend of barrel-aged sour beer from Barrelworks crossed with a clean saison from our Propagator R&D brewhouse.

AUGUST
The Lion (a.k.a. David Walker) speaks loud and clear in this collection, which riffs on a few of his favorites such as DBA while including a throwback to his namesake beer, Walker’s Reserve. To top it off, this collection also features a collab with Highland Park and two “coolship” wild ales that were spontaneously fermented in the Lion’s own family barn. The collection includes an exclusive Brewmaster’s Collective tasting glass.
Imperial Special Bitter Ale Aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels (500ml Bottle)
A special double edition of the beer that started it all for Firestone Walker: DBA. We added a dash of rye to the original DBA mash bill, then aged the beer in 10-year-old rye whiskey barrels. The peppery spice notes of the rye play perfectly off DBA’s caramel and butterscotch flavors, creating an amped-up iteration of a brewery classic.
BREWMASTER’S COLLECTIVE EXCLUSIVE
Barrel Aged Imperial Porter Made with Smoked Malts (500ml Bottle)
The return of a throwback porter with a few new twists. We dusted off the original Walker’s Reserve recipe and added a hint of beechwood-smoked malt. The beer was then aged for 12 months in eight-year-old bourbon barrels, creating a canvas of bourbon-soaked porter flavors with suggestions of s’mores from the campfire.
Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout with Vanilla and Spices (500ml Bottle)
We brewed a heady imperial stout along with our friends at Highland Park, then aged it in eight-year-old wheated whiskey barrels. The finishing touches came when we infused the beer with whole Madagascar vanilla beans followed by a second infusion of some really special spices. You can expect massive, out-of-this-world flavor from this beer.
Spontaneously Fermented American Wild Ale
The journey of this beer began when we brewed a Lambic-style base beer at our Propagator R&D brewhouse. The hot wort was trucked up to David Walker’s farm, where it was transferred to a classic coolship vessel to initiate spontaneous fermentation. We repeated this experience for three consecutive years, resulting in this epic barrel-aged blend of all three lots.
BREWMASTER’S COLLECTIVE EXCLUSIVE
Spontaneously Fermented American Wild Ale with Fruit
A special edition of our Coolship Wild Ale enhanced by an infusion of fresh fruits. While Barrelworks is renowned for its American-style fruited wild ales, this was our chance to pursue the classical art of creating an authentic fruited Lambic-style beer.

Experience an eclectic immersion into our iconic Vintage program. It all begins with “XXVI,” our latest Anniversary Ale—the beer that put our Vintage program on the map starting in 2006. From Barrelworks, we bring the next edition from the Terroir Project and a riff on the classic SLOambic. The collection includes packaged pairings to explore with the beers.
Blended Barrel-Aged Ale
Every summer, we embark on an annual rite: the creation of our next Anniversary Ale, blended with the help of local winemakers. While the barrelmeisters are taking their time on this one, keeping the deets close to the vest, we’ve got a fun opportunity for members on this one. The beer will be named by club members themselves. Stay tuned, it could be you!

Blended Ale Aged in Cognac, Rye Whiskey, Bitters, and Absinthe Barrels with Lemon Juice
ABV: 13% IBU: 18 SRM: 30
In a noble feat, Barrel Program Manager Eric Ponce, got his hands on some nearly unattainable 18-year-old Sazerac Rye barrels, French Cognac barrels, and Absinthe barrels to mature this beer. The addition of lemon juice leaves this beer reflecting the dignified flavors of the classic Sazerac.
American Wild Ale Fermented with Blackberries, Cherries, and Vanilla
ABV: 5.8%
We decided to jump back into the berry bush to deliver a tantalizing blend of flavors derived from blackberries, cherries, and vanilla beans for this release. This blend is built upon a base of our saison style ale, matured for 24-36 months in French oak barrels, with heaps of tart Montmorency cherries, and locally-grown blackberries. Into this flavor fusion, we added Madagascar vanilla beans to help tie the room together.
Wine and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Blended Ale with Cherries

Matt and his team are curating the details of this beer. We will share more specifics closer to the ship date, but we’ve heard rumors of a collaborative blend between our Vintage and Barrelworks programs, pairing a stout with some wild cherries
